SUNDAY - JULY 26, 2009
Once again the sun was shining and they day was bright with possibility. We decided to take our 2 young South Korean girls (Jenny & Stella [10 yrs old]) and our Guests from Australia (Michael, Cynthia & Thomas [5]) out for a wonderful Sunday Drive.
We started out over the Alex Fraser Bridge and drove down South West Marine Drive out past UBC stopping once to get pictures of the view south looking at Vancouver Island.
We continued down past a VERY packed Spanish Banks and up to Queen Elizabeth Park.
parking was great and the park not very crowded. We had a short walk and took some amazing pictures of the view of Vancouver and the Mountains then as it was a scorching hot summer day we took the children over to the fountain. OK - so it took a whole 2 minutes for them to climb in and have an amazing half an hour dodging the water. Eventually they decided to just stand in it. They had a great time and what the heck - it is just water anyway.
The ride home was quick and painless not one complaint about being all wet. They were all sitting on plastic bags. That will teach me not to leave the house without some sort of beach towels. Jenny explained on her way back to the car that this was one of her best days ever - she had never been in a fountain with her clothes on in South Korea. Canada is pretty nice.
Everyone had a great day.
